Welcome to Fire and Fairy Dust, the Long Way Back. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Cheryl Eppel, and I wanted to take a few minutes to share with you why I've started this podcast and just a little bit about me. And it has definitely been a journey that has come with some of the most difficult, but also some of the most joyful times that I have ever experienced. It's taken me from barely speaking up to finding my voice and from hiding every part of me to finally being ready and able to show up authentically. And the thing is, I know I'm not the only one on this type of journey. And I almost gave up a few times. Things, you know, got really hard. But here I am. And so if I can share what I've learned, and that can help anyone in any way, even the smallest amount, why wouldn't I why wouldn't I do that? Why wouldn't I share that? For a long time I worked as a nurse uh with a focus on mental health. And as a nurse psychotherapist, I no longer hold that title because in January of 2026, in a plot twist that even I didn't see coming, I was called on my spiritual path to leave nursing and pursue what I am doing now, which is writing and speaking and mentoring and combining my previous life experience knowledge with my spiritual gifts because I am also a medium. And the spiritual side of me was a part that I denied for a really long time. And it's exciting for me, but also sometimes a little bit scary, to start to share that with the world. You'll hear me talk a lot about authenticity, and I know it's a word that, you know, is is going around a lot, and I think that there's a reason for that. It's something that I hold dearly to me, and here's why. There was a time, not too long ago, when I looked in the mirror and I had no idea who the woman was who was looking back at me. I had completely lost every part of me in relationships with other people and in the needs of others and the expectations of others, and acknowledging all of those expectations and never acknowledging myself. And so the space that I'm in now where I can share my story and my growth and my challenges, I fought like hell to get here. And so now that I'm here, I'm gonna fight like hell to keep it because it's just not something that I'm willing to compromise. And so, yes, I use the word a lot because it means a lot to me. And I take it very seriously. And so if you're looking for a space that is poised and polished or in any way perfect, I'm probably not your girl. But if you're looking for a space to learn to embrace your humanity instead of shaming it, a space that is raw, imperfect, with all of its flaws, and often a bit spicy, then welcome to Fire and Fairy Dust, where we will slowly uncover and discuss the very long journey back to self and the roller coaster of emotions that that type of journey brings. Thanks for listening.
